What the inquiry form collects

Only the fields on the form.

When you send an inquiry through the form on /commissions, the form passes what you typed to me by email. Your name, email address, the piece you asked about, the room and use, the rough timeline and budget, and whatever you wrote in the anything-else field. Nothing more, nothing hidden.

If the form endpoint is down for any reason, the site falls back to opening your own mail client with the same message pre-filled. In that case the email leaves your device, not mine, and the site never sees it.

Where the email lives after that

In my inbox. That's it.

owen@caldwellwoodworks.com is a real address I check every business day. Your message sits there while we correspond about a piece. If the commission moves forward, I keep the thread because the design history is part of the record. If you never write back, the thread lingers in my inbox and is eventually archived. Nothing gets added to a mailing list, and nothing gets exported to a spreadsheet or a CRM.

Studio notes signup

Three or four notes a year. Unsubscribe any time.

If you subscribe to Studio Notes from the site footer, I add your address to a small list that receives three or four notes a year about wood, joinery, and what's on the bench. The list is not shared. Unsubscribe links land on every note; one click removes you from the list permanently.

What the site tracks

Page views only. No cookies, no fingerprinting.

The site uses privacy-friendly analytics to count page views and referrers. No cookies get set, no personal identifiers get collected, and the analytics provider never sees your IP address in a form that can identify you. This is enough for me to see which pieces get attention and which posts get read; it is not enough to build a profile of any individual visitor.

Vercel, which hosts the site, logs standard web-server data (timestamp, path, response code) for a short window. Vercel does not share that data with me in identified form.

Third parties the site talks to

Three, all named.

• Vercel — hosts the site itself. Standard hosting data as described above.
• Sanity — stores the words and images the site displays. Sanity does not receive visitor data.
• Google Fonts — serves the two typefaces used on the site (Plus Jakarta Sans and Inter). Google receives your IP address as part of the font request; it is a routine part of every website that uses Google Fonts.

No advertising networks. No social-media pixels. No marketing automation. No affiliate trackers.
